General Caregiver Requirements

Reliable transportation
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Access to a smartphone for AxisCare
Ability to pass background screening
Current or completed TB screening
CPR and First Aid certification
Ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality
Follow written care plans and document accurately
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Professional communication skills
Physical ability for assigned duties
Authorization to work in the United States

CNA certification is not required for most caregiver positions. Experience is valued, but reliability, compassion, and the ability to follow the care plan are essential.

Screening and Onboarding

Complete required background checks, employment documents, TB screening, CPR and First Aid requirements, and Paylocity onboarding.

Client-Specific Training and Assignment

Once onboarding is complete and an appropriate assignment is available, caregivers receive assignment details, care-plan expectations, and instructions for clocking in through AxisCare.

Interview or Meet and Greet

Selected applicants may be invited to an interview, introductory conversation, or client-specific Meet and Greet.

What to Expect After You Apply

Submitting an application does not guarantee immediate placement or a specific number of hours. Assignments depend on client needs, schedule compatibility, service location, onboarding completion, and current openings.

Opportunities Across Indiana

Shirley’s Angels Home Care recruits caregivers throughout Indiana for client-specific assignments. Available hours may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, short shifts, extended shifts, and PRN coverage.

Indianapolis and Central Indiana

Opportunities may be available in Indianapolis and surrounding communities.

Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana

Growing opportunities in Fort Wayne and nearby cities.

Northwest Indiana

Assignments may be available in Gary, Merrillville, Hammond, Crown Point, and surrounding communities.

Other Indiana Communities

Openings are always available new client referrals  are always welcomed.

Applicants should only accept assignments they can reliably reach and consistently work.

Do I need to be a CNA?

No. CNA certification is not required for most caregiver assignments, although prior caregiving experience may be helpful.

What is the caregiver pay rate?

The standard caregiver pay rate is $20 per hour unless a specific posting states otherwise.

Are hours guaranteed?

No. Hours depend on client authorizations, assignment needs, schedule compatibility, and caregiver availability.

Can I work PRN or part time?

PRN and part-time opportunities may be available depending on current client needs.

Do I need reliable transportation?

Yes. Caregivers must be able to arrive reliably for scheduled shifts. Some assignments may also require approved client transportation.

When can I start?

A start date can only be confirmed after onboarding is complete and an appropriate client assignment is available.

Will I receive training?

Yes. Caregivers complete required onboarding and may receive client-specific training before beginning an assignment.

How do I clock in?

Caregivers use AxisCare for scheduling, GPS-enabled clock-in and clock-out, and service documentation after onboarding is complete.
